Handmade in San Diego
Which beach is yours?
We engrave the real coastline into solid hardwood, then hand-pour the Pacific over it, so the water breaks against the shore exactly where it breaks in life.
Two crafts, one piece
Laser engraving and hand-poured resin in the same object. Most makers do one. The hard part, landing the foam line on the engraved shore, is seven years of feel.
Made in San Diego
Every piece is cut, engraved, poured, sanded and finished by hand in a La Mesa shop.
Personalized, not printed
A name, a date, a set of coordinates, engraved into the piece itself. That is the difference between a decoration and a keepsake.
The Signature Collection
Shoreline
A wood panel where the land is laser-engraved with the real coastline of a named San Diego beach (the streets, the pier, the point, the cliff line) and the water is hand-poured ocean resin, breaking against that engraved shore exactly where it breaks in real life.
Not "a beach." Your beach. The one you learned to surf at, got married on, or drove to the morning you decided to move here.
In the collection
Engraved to order, about a week. Don't see yours? Ask for it.

Every pour is different, which is the point. No two waves land the same way.
Sizes & pricing
Every size, the same coastline, the same hand-poured water.
Shoreline pieces carry a named, laser-engraved coastline under the resin, so they price above the plain ocean pours in The Work.
Add engraved personalization, a name, a date, or the coordinates, to any Shoreline piece. Included in the price.

Personalization · included
A name and a date change what it is.
Without them it is a good picture of a beach. With them it is the beach where something happened, and that is the version people keep. Engraved straight into the piece: a name, a date, or latitude and longitude.

The Work
Beyond the coastline.
Same materials, same hands. Resin and hardwood, made to be used rather than admired from a distance.
Engraved personalization is included in the price on everything here. A name, a date, or the coordinates, cut into the piece. That covers neighborhood signs, small gifts, LED lights and the flag map.

Coasters
Three ways to make one. A poured ocean scene on hardwood, wood and resin in blue or sunset, or crisp laser work on black slate in 56 designs: military and patriotic marks, horses, sea life, farm, wild animals, birds and insects, plus state outlines, skylines, coordinates, logos and monograms to order. Rubber-footed or cork-backed so they will not scratch a table.
From $42 the setEngraving is included in the price. Leave blank for none.

Plain Ornaments & Small Gifts
Plain ornaments, coordinate keychains, and magnets. No engraved coastline, so they sit below the Shoreline ornament. The easy gift that still looks like somebody made it by hand, because somebody did.
From $12Engraving is included in the price. Leave blank for none.

Engraved LED Lights
A portrait, a pet, a logo or a silhouette engraved into clear acrylic and lit from the base. The remote changes it to any color. Base comes in black or light wood grain.
From $25Engraving is included in the price. Leave blank for none.

Sailboat
Cut from layered panels and assembled by hand, 19 inches tall on its own stand. Acrylic reads like stained glass with the light behind it. Wood reads warmer and heavier. It is built rather than engraved, so it is the one piece here that cannot take a name.
$95
Neighborhood Signs
Cut on the laser and built up in layers so the letters stand proud of the face, then painted by hand. Shown in Hillcrest. Name your neighborhood and we will lay it out.
From $95Engraving is included in the price. Leave blank for none.

Flag & Eagle Wall Art
The outline of the country filled with an eagle and the flag, cut in layers and mounted on white acrylic with standoffs so it sits off the wall. A companion to the veteran slate line.
From $110Engraving is included in the price. Leave blank for none.
About
Made by hand, ten miles from the water.
Coastal Creations is Sean Hooker, a San Diego maker who has been pouring resin and cutting hardwood since 2019, out of a shop in La Mesa.
Boards and panels are cut from solid hardwood, then engraved and poured one at a time. The resin is mixed and poured by hand, which is why no two waves are the same and why the foam never lands quite where you would expect. Every piece gets a final hand-sand and a food-safe or display finish depending on what it is for.
If you want something that does not exist yet, a beach we do not stock, a board in a species we have not used, a hundred of something with your logo on it, that conversation is the favorite part of the job.

Start something
Tell us what you have in mind.
A beach, a closing gift, two hundred pieces for a conference, or something we haven't thought of. Every message gets a real answer, usually within a day.
Turnaround
Stocked pieces ship or hand over the same week. Custom engraving is typically one week; resin pours need seven to ten days to cure properly, and we won't rush that.
