The problem with branded gifts

Most swag is thrown away before the flight home.

The stress ball, the branded notebook, the tenth water bottle. It costs real money, it makes no impression, and a good share of it goes in the hotel room bin.

A hand-poured piece with the recipient's name or your mark engraved into it behaves differently. It goes on a desk or a shelf, it gets asked about, and your logo sits in the room for years instead of a weekend. That is the entire argument, and it is why the per-unit number is worth comparing against what the cheap option actually buys you.

If it ends up on a desk, it worked. If it ends up in a drawer, we priced a pen.

Recent runs

Work that actually went out the door.

Photographs of real production, not renders and not catalogue styling. This is what arrives.

Slate coasters engraved with a cattle ranch brand and herd artwork
A ranch brand on slateA working brand and the herd it belongs to, cut into black slate. A mark does not have to be a corporate logo — a brand, a crest or a family name engraves exactly the same way.

Runs shown here start at a few dozen pieces. Yours does not have to look like any of them.

Production

What a finished run looks like.

The same pieces sold individually on this site, produced in quantity with your mark on them.

A set of laser-engraved slate coasters in matching designs
Engraved slate setsCrisp, fast to produce, and the most forgiving option at high quantity. Sets of four or six.
A wooden round engraved with the San Diego skyline and lettering
Engraved hardwoodYour logo, a skyline, or an award line cut into solid wood with a gold or black fill.
Stacks of wood and resin coasters tied with twine in ocean blue and sunset orange
Hand-poured resinThe distinctive one. No two pours match, which is the point when the gift is meant to feel made rather than bought.
An engraved acrylic panel lit on a colour-changing LED base
Engraved LED acrylicA logo or silhouette lit from the base. Reads well on a booth table and packs flat.
Small engraved ornaments and gift pieces

Choosing a piece

What works at what quantity.

Retail prices below, so you can see where each piece sits. Volume pricing is quoted per run, because material, engraving time and packaging all move with the design.

Piece Retail Where it fits
Coordinate keychain $15 Large giveaway lists and booth traffic. Engraves fast, ships light.
Shoreline ornament $24 Holiday client gifting. Individually boxable, seasonal, keeps well in storage.
Engraved LED light $25 Booth giveaway with more presence than its price suggests. Logo reads when lit.
Engraved slate set $42 – $58 The volume workhorse. Sets of four or six, consistent at scale.
Ocean resin coasters $62 Client thank-you tier. The hand-poured look does the talking.
Serving board $85 – $165 Named recipients: top accounts, milestones, retirements, executive gifts.
Wall piece / award $110 – $475 One-off recognition. Engraved plate, presented rather than handed out.

Custom artwork setup is a one-time $35 per order, not per unit, so it effectively disappears on a run of any size. Personalizing individual pieces with different names is quoted separately, since it is real time per piece.

Process

How a run actually works.

No surprises, and nothing goes into production until you have held one in your hand.

  1. Tell us the shape of it

Piece, quantity, your event date, and roughly what you want to spend per head. A logo file helps but is not needed to start.

  2. You get a costed proposal

Per-unit price at your quantity, packaging options, and a lead time quoted honestly against your date rather than optimistically.

  3. A physical sample

One real piece, made with your artwork, shipped to you. Changes to fill colour, placement and depth happen here, not after 300 units exist.

  4. You approve, then production starts

Nothing is cut or poured before that approval. Deposit at this point, balance on completion.

  5. Packed the way you need it

Individually boxed for a gift list, or bulk-packed by the case for a booth. Say which and it is built into the quote.

  6. Shipped free, tracked, to one address or many

US shipping is free with no minimum. Split shipments to multiple offices are fine.

Lead time, honestly

Resin is the constraint, not the laser. A pour needs seven to ten days to cure properly and that is not a step worth rushing, so it sets the floor on any resin run.

EngravingTypically about a week for a custom design
Resin cureSeven to ten days, non-negotiable
SampleMade and shipped before the run is scheduled
Your runQuoted against your event date with the proposal

If your date is tight, say so in the first message. Slate and engraved hardwood move considerably faster than resin, and there is usually a version of the idea that makes the date.

Past conference work

We have produced branded conference pieces for AFP, and quote runs from a dozen up to a thousand units.

Give us a logo, a deadline and a budget, and you get a costed proposal back with a physical sample before you commit to anything.

Can you engrave our logo, or does it have to be text?

Logos are the normal case. A vector file (SVG, AI, EPS or PDF) engraves cleanest. A high-resolution PNG usually works too. If all you have is a logo off your website, send it anyway and we will tell you honestly whether it will hold up at the size involved.

Can every piece have a different name on it?

Yes. Individually personalized runs are common for award and recognition orders. It is quoted separately from the base run because it is genuine time per piece rather than one setup spread across the order.

What do you need from us to quote?

Piece, quantity, the date you need them in hand, and a rough per-head budget. Artwork can follow. Those four things are enough for a real number rather than a range.

Do you ship outside the United States?

Not currently. US shipping only, and it is free with no minimum.

What happens if the sample is not right?

It gets changed until it is, before production. That is the entire purpose of the step. Fill colour, engraving depth, placement and packaging are all still open at that point.

How do payment terms work?

A deposit when you approve the sample and the balance on completion. Purchase orders and company invoicing are fine; say so in your inquiry and it will be set up that way.

Request a quote

Tell us the shape of the order.

Four fields get you a real number: piece, quantity, date, budget. Everything else is optional and can follow. Every inquiry gets a real answer, usually within a day.

Sent straight to Sean. No file? Send the inquiry anyway and artwork can follow.

What you get back

A per-unit price at your quantity, packaging options, and a lead time quoted against your actual event date. Then a physical sample before anything is produced.

Minimum order

Twelve units. Below that it is simply a normal order from the catalogue, and personalization can be added to any of it.
